Roku’s solution to streaming decision fatigue is a trivia game

Roku users who struggle to figure out what they want to watch may have an answer in the form of “Roklue,” a new game coming to the streaming platform on March 7. Announced Thursday, Roku is a pop culture trivia game that Roku says helps users discover new content and “test players from the movies and TV shows everyone is talking about, as well as those cult favorites they want to watch again and again.”

The first Roclue theme will be “Awards Season”, featuring “clues inspired by Hollywood’s biggest awards show moments and famous movies”. The themes of the trivia games will change throughout the year. Users don’t need to download anything to try it out — Roklue will appear on the Roku home screen when it launches on Saturday.

Roklue joins the existing line-up of games available on Roku through its game channels. Similarly, Netflix has also for several years offered games both within its streaming platform and as free games on mobile platforms that require a Netflix subscription to play.
