Ring adds 4K to its battery-powered video doorbells

Ring has today announced a special update to its battery-powered video doorbell for those who can’t connect their units to power. The flagship Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd generation) gets 4K video, with 10x zoom and the promise of longer times between recharges than previous models. Plus, it’s bringing 2K imaging to its lower-end Battery Doorbell, Battery Doorbell Plus, and Battery Doorbell (2nd generation). The former, befitting its higher price, gets a quick-release battery pack, while both models get 2K video and 6x zoom. Naturally, these features are already available on Ring’s wired products, most of which were announced in September 2025.

The company also knows that swapping batteries isn’t ideal if you really need the doorbell to work all the time. That’s why it’s also launching a new solar charger that integrates into the mount, keeping your doorbell running longer between trips to the wall outlet. It also has a larger solar panel, extracts more juice than its little brother, and can be mounted in a variety of locations. All of the above are available for pre-order starting today, and their prices are as follows: Pro ($250), Plus ($180), Battery Doorbell ($100), Solar Charger ($50), Solar Panel ($60).
