Expectations were definitely high The Mandalorian and Grogu, The big screen offshoot of director Jon Favreau’s popular Disney+ series The Mandalorian. After all, there hasn’t been a new movie in the Star Wars franchise since 2019 rise of skywalker The finale of the three trilogies that make up the so-called “Skywalker Saga”.
The new movie… is great. This is an average Star Wars outing, and will give families a solid Memorial Day weekend entertainment option. It’s not just the spectacular home run that would have helped launch the flagging franchise into an exciting new era, and hardcore Star Wars fans expecting more will probably be disappointed.

Grogu (fka “Baby Yoda”) won audiences’ hearts from the moment he first appeared on screens in the first season. The MandalorianAnd the bond between the little green creature and his father-figure bounty hunter, the titular Mandalorian, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) grows even stronger. Due to the production of Season 4 of the series being delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, Favreau got the green light to make this spinoff film.
Mando and Grogu (as his apprentice) are hunting down the scattered remains of Imperial warlords on behalf of the New Republic, under orders from Colonel Ward, former Rebel Alliance pilot Sigourney Weaver. Mando being Mando these missions go awry. Ward really wants the surviving warlords to get useful intel from them, but apparently they don’t like to come quietly, so sometimes, well, they die along with their henchmen. Can’t be helped.
After Mando achieves his latest goal, a frustrated Ward offers him a new mission: to locate Rota the Hutt (Jeremy Allen White), son of the late Jabba, on behalf of the Hutt Twins, who had taken over Jabba’s criminal enterprise. In return, the twins will provide vital information about the whereabouts of an elusive empire warlord named Sikka. Mando accepts, mainly because Ward offers him a newly refurbished item. razor crest-Like a ship, just like his old ship that exploded at the end of S2.
