Reba McEntire and Rex Lynn are working their own magic on the holidays.
happy place The star, 70, tells People that although she and her fiancé, 68, don’t currently have any holiday season traditions, they are planning a few workshops in time for this year.
“For Thanksgiving, we’re going to watch a double-header at the movies and go out to eat,” McEntire says, confirming that they’re making a fresh start this November.

Also speaking with PEOPLE at the Paley Honors Gala on November 10, the country icon detailed another seasonal ritual she and Lynn participate in — just a few months later. “Valentine’s Day, we go to Sonic and eat hamburgers and tater tots. And then Thanksgiving, we’re starting our new tradition,” she adds, confirming that she’s “very low-key” and likes “relaxed nights in, no makeup, all that kind of stuff.”
As they reported, McEntire and Lynn, 69, first met in 1991 and started dating in 2020. Today A year later, they have been “pretty much inseparable” ever since.
“I’ve never been in love with a man like Rex Lynn. Rex is a very tender-hearted man, and I love him with all my heart. He’s a nice guy, really shy, though,” McEntire told People last month as part of their October cover story.
McEntire also spoke openly about Lynn’s “very romantic” proposal, describing it as a “complete surprise” and “Rex Lynn timing”.
She said of him, “I was completely thrilled.” happy place Costar. “I asked him, ‘Well, when do you want to do it?’ He said, ‘Let’s enjoy the engagement time.’ So we haven’t set any dates or anything. “We’re just enjoying each other.”
McEntire was married to Narvel Blackstock for 26 years before divorcing in 2015, and when asked to share some advice on dealing with heartbreak she said people should “never give up”.
“If your heart is breaking right now, just take care of yourself, take care of your heart and then be open with it,” the singer told People. “I wasn’t looking for love at all. So it happened at the right time, right place. God’s timing is everything.”
