Reba McEntire wants to make it clear that she hasn’t walked down the aisle yet!

During the interview, co-anchor Savannah Guthrie said, “You met your husband there too. So Rex, good ole Rex…”
McEntire immediately jumped in to correct Guthrie’s choice of words. “Now, wait a minute. We’ll get engaged before everyone’s relationship at home is over,” she said.
Guthrie, 53, apologized for his inaccurate words and McEntire said he had to explain himself further. “My family will go, ‘Wait, you didn’t tell us?!’ The singer said.

Lynn, 69, was in the studio for the interview, and when the camera panned towards him, he initially looked confused, but then began to smile as his bride-to-be discussed their dynamic.
McEntire said working with her fiancé is a “blast”.
“He’s a workaholic and he loves rehearsing,” he said sound the coach said of his man. “I’m not that into the rehearsal part, so he really makes sure I know my lines, that when we have a taping day I’m ready to go. We have a blast. We’re very appreciative and grateful that we get to work together, work out together, and then go home together.”

He said that filming Season 2 of the NBC sitcom has been even better than the first season.
“Season 2 is so much fun!” He shared. “You know in Season 1 you connect with each other and learn each other’s habits and how they want to work. And that was fun. Season 2 is a lot more fun now that we know each other.”
McEntire confirmed this third hour He and Lynn got engaged in December 2024. “Almost a year in December,” he said of the engagement.
She added, “A lot of people didn’t know. And when he asked me to marry him, it was Christmas Eve a year ago. So we were going to come back to LA and announce it, but the fire broke out. And our joy knew no bounds given the devastating situation everyone else was in.”
McEntire said she decided to wait to share the news — but when a reporter asked about her “fiancé” at the Emmys, she “didn’t correct him” because it “was making me feel good.”

When it comes to wedding planning, don’t expect the country music superstar to go overboard celebrating. “Reba, Rex’s wedding is going to be very different,” the singer shared. “It’s going to be low-key, a lot of fun, a lot of people, a lot of food. Our big goal is just to have fun.”
People confirmed McEntire and Lynn’s engagement in September, five years after their romance. “It happened a few months ago and they’re very happy,” a source previously told PEOPLE about their engagement.
Despite knowing each other since the 90s, the couple did not reconnect until 2020, following the death of McEntire’s mother.
“In 2020, when Mama got sick, she called me,” McEntire recalled. Today In October 2021. “We had seen each other before because we’re both on Young Sheldon. So starting in March of 2020, we just kept talking and meeting and eventually got together, saw each other in June.”
“And we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since,” she added.
