For the past five and a half years, thousands of people on Mac have used Raycast every day to reduce noise. Now, the time has come for a new beginning. We’re excited to announce that Raycast for Windows is in public beta. Available today.
Raycast on Windows uses familiar keyboard shortcuts, comes with a design that fits perfectly, and even lets you search your apps as well as your games. We made it feel like it belongs here, not like something that was taken somewhere else.
One of the hardest parts was the file search. Windows doesn’t have a system-wide index that meets our standards, so we built one from scratch. Our custom indexer scans your files in real time and returns results instantly. This is the kind of finding you’d expect from Raycast.
Raycast comes with an extension platform. You can control your smart home without opening the app, translate text without switching to a browser, search your Notion workspace in seconds, manage GitHub pull requests, find the perfect GIF, or investigate linear issues. All from one place.
There are thousands of extensions in our ecosystem and hundreds already work on Windows. More are being added every day as developers bring their work to the platform. Simply browse the store, install what you need and start using it right away.
Don’t see what you’re looking for? Make it yourself! Extensions are built with React and TypeScript. So if you know web development, you already know how to build for Raycast. Our developer documentation tells you about it. And because our API is designed to be cross-platform, most extensions work out of the box on both Mac and Windows.
During the public beta, Quick AI is free without subscription. Simply launch Raycast with your hotkey, type a question and press Tab to get the answer with quotes.
Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-5 Mini, it can handle a wide variety of tasks from quick lookups to in-depth research queries. We want you to experience how natural it feels to have AI at your disposal, ready when you need it. Although we don’t yet support all Pro features on Windows, you can optionally upgrade to have more LLMs to choose from if you prefer.
The public beta includes all the features that make Raycast indispensable. Launch apps instantly, manage windows with keyboard shortcuts, access your clipboard history, navigate with quicklinks, expand snippets as you type, search files throughout your system, and explore tons of extensions.
And this is just the beginning. We’re bringing AI chat, notes, and more features to Windows in the coming months. We send updates regularly, so you will notice that the app is developing rapidly. The goal is to make Raycast on Windows as powerful as macOS.
Over the past few months, thousands of you have been testing Raycast for Windows and giving us feedback. You’ve helped us make it better and we couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks for your help! Since this is a public beta, there will be bugs and issues to work out. So please keep your feedback coming.
Setup Raycast on your PC today and experience what frictionless work feels like.
