“BREAKING: I’m running to replace Ron DeSantis as the next Republican Governor of Florida to make life more affordable for you and your family,” he wrote on Twitter.
“I’ll stop the H-1B scam, tell Blackstone they can’t buy our houses, cancel AI data centers, and eliminate the estate tax.”
Fischbach will be in the GOP gubernatorial primary alongside Representative Byron Donalds, whom President Donald Trump had previously endorsed for governor.
Meanwhile, according to local media reports, current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has not endorsed Donald, arguing that he has not been a part of Florida’s victories over the past few years.
Fischbach has consistently praised DeSantis for his legacy as governor in Florida and has said that he wants to carry on his legacy.
Fischbach is currently the CEO of an investment firm and the founder of “Incubate Debate”, which hosts free high school debate tournaments.
“Congressman Byron Donald cannot be our next governor because he will not fight for Florida like Ron DeSantis,” Fischbach said in his announcement video. “I will. I will fight to preserve Governor DeSantis’s victory.”
At this time, DeSantis has not endorsed anyone for Governor of Florida.
