match preview
Mallorca have found it difficult to get going in the opening months of the 2025-26 campaign, recording a record of three wins, three draws and seven defeats from their 13 matches, collecting 12 points which leaves them 16th in the division.
Pirates were victorious in their last match at their own stadium on 9 November, beating Getafe 1–0, but will go into this game on the back of a 2–1 defeat at Villarreal.
Jagoba Arrasate’s side have struggled defensively this season, conceding 20 goals, but only six of those goals have been at home, where they have lost just once.
So Mallorca will be delighted to be back on home soil this weekend, but Pirates have actually won only one of their last six La Liga games against Osasuna, and that was a 1-1 draw in the corresponding match during the 2025-26 campaign.
Osasuna are unbeaten in their last three La Liga matches with Mallorca, although three of their last five meetings have all ended in drawn matches, and the league table shows there is not much between these two sides.
Indeed, Osasuna are 17th in the division with 11 points, one point and one place behind Mallorca, and both teams have won three times in La Liga this season.
Alessio Lischi’s side have been strong defensively, conceding 16 times to Mallorca’s 20, but have struggled at the other end of the field and have conceded just 10 goals, the second-worst attacking record in the division.
Osasuna will go into this match on the back of consecutive defeats, having lost to Sevilla and Real Sociedad along with a goalless draw against Real Oviedo in November.
It’s been a struggle recently as Los Rojillos haven’t really been victorious in Spain’s top flight since a 2-1 home success at the beginning of October.

team news
Mallorca will be without the services of two players on Saturday due to injury, with Toni Lato and Leo Roman unavailable for selection.
Vedat Muriqi is the team’s leading goalscorer this season, having found the net on six occasions, and the 31-year-old will remain in the final third of the field.
There is also expected to be another start in the wide area for Matteo Joseph, while former Barcelona youngster John Virgili is likely to retain his starting role.
As for Osasuna, Alejandro Catena and Inigo Arguibide will both miss the match due to suspension, while Iker Benito and Valentin Rozier are injured.
The visitors will also need to keep a late check on Ante Budimir, who was a late substitute in the team’s defeat to Real Sociedad last time out.
Raul Garcia should continue through the middle for Osasuna, while Victor Munoz is also in line for another starting spot in the final third of the field.
Mallorca probable starting lineup:
Bergstrom; Maffeo, Valgent, Rello, Mojica; Costa, Mascarell; Joseph, Darder, Virgili; Muriki
Osasuna probable starting lineup:
Herrera; Boyomo, Herando, Cruz; Moncayola, Gomez, Toro, Bretons; Oroz, Raul Garcia, Munoz
We say: Mallorca 1-0 Osasuna
This is a really tough match, as both the teams have struggled this season. However, Mallorca is solid at home, and they will welcome an Osasuna team with the worst record in the division, so we could see a modest success for the Pirates.
