match preview
Getafe have a record of five wins, two draws and six losses in their 13 league matches this season, leaving them seventh in the division with a total of 17 points, four points behind sixth-placed Espanyol.
The Deep Blue Ones have had a great season so far, including an incredible 11-0 win over Inter de Valdemoro in the first round of the Copa del Rey, but they will come into this match on the back of consecutive defeats.
Indeed, Jose Bordalas’s side were beaten 1-0 by Mallorca ahead of the November international break last time out, before losing 1-0 to Atletico Madrid, as the hosts will be aiming to avoid a third consecutive defeat here.
Getafe and Elche have actually met on just 20 previous occasions, and 10 of those encounters have finished level, with the former claiming six wins to Elche’s four.
The last meeting between the two sides in May 2023 ended in a 1-1 draw, but Elche have been victorious in two of the last four meetings.
Elche will go into this match with a strong result after playing a 2-2 draw with division leader Real Madrid.
The green-striped actually took a 2–1 lead against Los Blancos in the 84th minute of the match, but Jude Bellingham soon equalized the score, denying the hosts a famous victory.
Eder Sarabia’s side finished second in the Segunda División last season, ensuring a return to the top tier, and they have impressed this season, collecting 16 points from their 13 matches with a record of three wins, seven draws and three losses, leaving them 10th in the table.
Elche are unbeaten at home this season, but are yet to win on their travels, having drawn three and lost three of their six away matches.
Meanwhile, Getafe have a record of two wins, two draws and two losses in their six matches on home soil, so it is shaping up to be an interesting battle in Gameweek 14 of the 2025-26 La Liga campaign.

team news
Getafe will once again be without the services of Davinci and Yvan Neu on Friday evening due to injury problems.
Meanwhile, the hosts will also be missing Abdel Abaker, Mario Martin and Luis Milla through suspension, with all three receiving milestone yellow cards in the close defeat to Atletico last time out.
As a result, there will be changes to the home team’s starting line-up for this match, with Kiko Femenia, Javier Munoz and Juanmi potentially included.
For Elche, fit-again Pedro Bigas, who was on the bench against Real Madrid, could come into the XI on Friday night as Victor Chust is suspended after a red card against the division leaders.
Josan was absent against Real Madrid with a muscle problem and the 35-year-old is expected not to play again.
Most of the players who took the field for the first whistle against Los Blancos should retain their positions, including places in the final third of the field for both Rafa Mir and Andre Silva.
Getafe’s probable starting lineup:
Soria; Iglesias, Jayne, Duarte, Rico; Femenía, Munoz, Arambarri, Juanmi; Liso, Mayoral
Other possible starting lineups:
Peña; Fort, Núñez, Affengruber, Bigas, Valera; Diangana, Aguado, Febas; Mir, Silva

We say: Getafe 1-1 Elche
Getafe will be missing some key players on Friday and Elche will go into this match with an excellent result. This is a game that could go either way, but we have found it difficult to separate the two teams on this occasion and have had to settle for a low-scoring draw.
