Reader, the bar was not full of screen, the screen was not working anyway.
Wired’s DC reporter Makenna Kelly was at the complex during the grand opening. I can only salute my opponent for his dedication:
Polymarket Bar, running on the “Monitoring the Situation” meme, is a bust.
After waiting outside in the rain for about an hour and a half due to technical problems – power and wifi being down – no TVs working.
The employees say that everything will be fine tomorrow.

“After waiting outside in the rain for about an hour and a half due to technical issues – power and WiFi being out – no TVs working,” Kelly wrote on BlueSky. Apparently the staff assured them that everything would work on Saturday i.e. today.
On Saturday, in a goofy response to its own post on X, Polymarket sort of admitted that it didn’t work last night, and included a video showing that all screens were working. A large sphere, which apparently worked last night, appears to be still working.
There may or may not be a situation in the Situation Room tomorrow night. The reports are unconfirmed.
However, the status monitors are now operational… and ready to monitor.

When contacted for comment by Gizmodo, Polymarket declined to comment on the record.
As Polymarket’s The firm cited “clear overlap in the usage of Global Situation Room and The Situation Room, such that both marks include ‘Situation Room’ and allow consumers to monitor and take action on global affairs.”
Gizmodo has no plans to report live from Polymarkets Bar at this time. However, we will monitor the situation on the screen.
