First trailer for director Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated conclusion dune The trilogy is out now. And, to celebrate the release, the director and his cast members held an event in Los Angeles to reveal what’s going to happen. The most revealing part was when Villeneuve explained how Dune: Part Threebased on other dune Book, doon messiahThe feel, look and sound will be different from the previous two films.
Villeneuve said in the programme, “I said to myself, it’s a good idea to come back to this world, not because of nostalgia but because of urgency. And to go there with a critical eye and with the idea of not being self-indulgent.” “I told my team that this would be a very different film, very different dune The film, with a different tone, with a different rhythm, with a different pace. If the first film was more of a contemplation, then like that film [is] One an exploration of a new world, and the other a war film, it is a thriller. I would say it’s more action-packed and more intense, more powerful than the other two films.”
He further explained what he meant by it being a thriller. Villeneuve said, “There’s a time interval, 17 years, where we see Paul dealing with the consequences of having too much power and he’s trying to figure out how to get out of this cycle of violence.” “And of course, he’s an emperor who can see the future, so he’s kind of invincible. And we follow the people trying to overthrow him. And it’s a pretty intense story. But at the heart, it’s still a love story. The heartbeat of the movie is still the relationship between Paul and Chani. And I’m so excited. I can’t wait to share the movie with you guys.”
He really means it because, according to Villeneuve, he not only loves Dune: Messiah more than the original dune book, but this time he found something even deeper in it.
“doon messiah It’s my favorite book of the series so far,” he said. “It’s a very mysterious book, a beautiful book. And this time, I would say it’s one of my most personal films, if not my most personal film. So this is a film that is very close to me and very contemporary.”
Villeneuve added, “It’s the story of Paul and Chaney as they struggle with their relationship, the weight of the world around them, and the incredible pressures they face.” “And there’s something about their love and their time and the way they are, the way their relationship evolved. That study on the relationship of both characters is very personal to me.”
but not only Dune: Part Three Apart from being more exciting and emotional than the previous two films, it is also going to look different. You get a taste from the new trailer, but for part threeVilleneuve changed cinematographers from Greg Fraser (who worked on the first two) to Linus Sandgren, who La la Land And No time to die.
“[Arrakis has] That changed over the years,” Villeneuve said of why he changed cinematographers. “The climate is different. It’s still a desert planet, but there are differences. We’re going to new sets, new places. I’ve brought cameras to areas of the planet you guys haven’t seen before. And we are also visiting new planets. And I wanted to see it with a fresh pair of eyes.”
However, one person who is coming back is composer Hans Zimmer. His music from the last two films defines a lot dune So Villeneuve knew he had to come back with a slight twist.
