GREEN BAY – The Packers have listed four players questionable and have ruled four players out for the team’s Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Detroit Lions.
The four questionable for Thursday are receiver Matthew Golden (wrist), linebacker Quay Walker (neck), and cornerbacks Keysean Nixon (neck) and Nate Hobbs (knee).
Green Bay is out defensive linemen Lucas Van Ness (foot) and Carl Brooks (ankle), and receivers Savion Williams (foot) and Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder). Reed is currently on injured reserve with a return designation.
Running back Josh Jacobs (knee) did not receive game status for Thursday and will play. He missed Sunday’s 23-6 win over Minnesota after suffering a knee injury in the second game against the New York Giants last week.
Walker, Golden and Hobbs all sat out against the Vikings before being projected to be limited on the injury report this week.
Nixon suffered a concussion after colliding with teammate Devonte Wyatt on the sideline in the first quarter against Minnesota. It was speculated that he had not participated on Monday before being limited after Tuesday’s walkthrough.
“A lot of these guys are making progress,” head coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday. “Unfortunately, when you’re talking about Thursday football you’re against it. So, we’ll see where they are. Obviously, (Nixon) is a guy we’ll leave until game time to see if he can go.”
Depending on the status of Nixon and Hobbs, first-year cornerback and Detroit area native Kamal Hayden could be in line to make his first NFL start on his hometown team.
According to LaFleur, Van Ness is “day-to-day” after returning against Minnesota after a five-game absence. He was projected as a non-participant this week after playing only six snaps against the Vikings.
“He’s right here,” LaFleur said. “We thought he might be able to go, and he tried to go, but he didn’t feel like it. So there he is.”
In addition to Jacobs, Green Bay did not release game status for the following players who will be available: quarterback Jordan Love (left shoulder), safety Javon Bullard (ankle), linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (foot/shoulder), tackle Zach Tom (back), and receivers Dontevian Wicks (calf), Romeo Doubs (wrist), and Christian Watson (knee).
The Lions ruled out five players and listed eight as questionable.
The five players ruled out are center Graham Glasgow (knee), safety Kerby Joseph (knee), defensive end Joshua Pascal (back), receiver Kalif Raymond (ankle) and tight end Brock Wright (neck).
The eight questionable are cornerback Terrion Arnold (concussion), defensive end Marcus Davenport (shoulder), tackle Taylor Decker (shoulder), guard Miles Frazier (knee), guard Tate Ratledge (knee), tackle Penny Sewell (ankle), receiver Isaac Tesla (hand) and running back Zion Walky (ankle/thumb).
Safety Brian Branch (toe/ankle) and running back Jacob Sellers (back/shoulder) do not have playing status and will play.
