Exclusive: There’s been a lot of buzz about who will play the younger version of Scott Bakula’s popular NCIS: New Orleans The character Dwayne Pride in Season 2 of CBS’ NCIS: OriginsAnd finally the wait is over.
Shea Buckner (Only murders in the building) will appear in an episode to air at the end of this season as Pride, who Bakula portrayed in seven seasons of the Louisiana-set show. NIS Special Agent Dwayne Pride, a former sheriff’s deputy, is a newly appointed probationary special agent from the NIS Panama office in the prequel series. She has a history with Gibbs (Austin Stowell), and the two must resolve their past tensions as they go undercover on a case.
While the episode will focus largely on Pride, it will also re-unite the Fed Five task force, a group of extraordinary NIS agents who found fame after exposing privileged killer, Spencer Hanlon, in the original. NIS Special Agent Felix Bates is in his 40s, and is described as a strong, charming and enthusiastic auditor and “paper-trail genius” from the Los Angeles NIS office, who is brought in to help a new task force. His superpower is sifting through piles of bureaucratic paperwork, finding patterns that help solve cases.
A little background on the Fed Five, the story was originally explored in a special two-part episode of Season 11 NCIS: “Crescent City” parts 1 (episode 18) and 2 (episode 19), which served as a backdoor pilot NCIS: New Orleans And introduced Gaurav to the universe. These episodes investigate the murder of McLane, a former NIS agent turned congressman and boss of the Fed Five. with a 90s setting OriginalThe story continues uninterrupted since the task force was disbanded in 1994.
Original Showrunners Gina Lucita Monreland and David J. North has previously discussed his intention and excitement to explore the franchise’s history on the prequel. In the upcoming special episode, they’ll do just that by sharing information about Pryde and Gibbs’ relationship, as well as expanding on their legacies.
More details about the Big Pride episode are still unknown. For now, the plan is to have the five-some appear in one episode, but who knows what the future holds once the characters are introduced? It’s not yet known whether or not the Privileged Killer case will be revisited, but it will definitely be a bonus for longtime fans.
