The Oregon Ducks are headed to another trip to the College Football Playoff as the regular season comes to an end, but the efforts to continue building for the future will never stop for Dan Lanning and the coaching staff.
It seems like Oregon is always working on the recruiting process, and luckily, they’re getting some help from an unexpected source in their pursuit of one of the best players in the 2026 class.
Oregon true freshman wide receiver Dacorion Moore has been battling injuries the last few games, but is sure to have his impact still felt off the field, especially in the recruitment of five-star wide receiver commit Chris Henry Jr. of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Moore sent a glowing message to Henry Jr. on social media on Tuesday, making it clear he’d like to see him move from Ohio State to Oregon and Eugene next season.
“My family needs you,” Moore Jr. wrote on the X, tagging Henry Jr.
A product of the prestigious Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. Henry Jr. has been committed to Ohio State for more than two years, announcing his pledge to the Buckeyes on July 28, 2023. It’s hard to imagine them changing course after such a long commitment, but stranger things have happened.

There is no doubt that the combination of Moore and Henry Jr. in the Oregon wide receiver room next season will immediately be an argument for the best pass-catching corps in college football for 2026.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Henry Jr. is the No. 1 wide receiver, the No. 1 player in the state of California and the No. 10 overall player in the 2026 class. Surprisingly he has received offers from some of the top programs in college football.
The Ducks offered Henry Jr. in January 2024 prior to Oregon’s unofficial visit on January 29, 2024.

Henry Jr. has two former Mater Dei teammates currently playing for Oregon, both of whom are making impacts as freshmen.
Oregon running back Jordan Davison and linebacker Nasir Wyatt both played with Henry Jr. at Mater Dei last season, his first season with the elite high school program after transferring.
Unfortunately, Henry Jr. missed the majority of the 2024 season due to a knee injury, but he still spent a lot of time on the offensive side of the ball with his teammates, especially Davison.
Henry Jr.’s familiarity with a pair of Ducks, along with his connection with Moore, is certainly noteworthy, but it doesn’t seem like those things alone will have an impact if he flips to Ohio State.
