Unfortunately, only chargers and cables compatible with Oppo’s SuperVOOC system will reach these speeds. It’s good to see it in the box because the spare will cost you over $100. Even if you’re not using an official OnePlus charger/cable, a standard USB-PD plug can still reach 36W, which is faster than phones like the Pixel 10 Pro and Galaxy S25 and the same as the iPhone 17.

OnePlus had partnered with imaging powerhouse Hasselblad on many of its previous flagship phones, but the pairing has come to an end with the launch of the OnePlus 15. The phone maker is now going it alone, swapping out Hasselblad’s processing for a new imaging engine called DetailMax. Hardware is also changing.

The OnePlus 15 has brand new camera sensors despite featuring the same megapixel count. It has a 50 MP primary wide-angle, 50 MP telephoto with 3.5x effective zoom, and 50 MP ultrawide with support for macro shots. A 32 MP selfie camera is also visible through the OLED.

Each of these sensors is smaller than last year’s OnePlus cameras by a slight margin. This means they can’t gather as much light, but good processing can make up for such small physical changes. That’s the problem though.

Taking photos with the OnePlus 15 can be frustrating as the image processing hits as hard as it misses. Color, temperature, dynamic range and detail are not very consistent. Images of similar objects taken under similar conditions – even images taken one after another – can produce dramatically different results. The color balance in all three rear sensors is also variable.

In this respect, some of the photos we took on the OnePlus 15 are very good. These are usually outdoor shots, where the phone has plenty of light. Capturing motion in these examples isn’t bad, and unless the frame is too busy the photos come out sharp. However, DetailMax has a tendency to over-sharpen, which erases fine details and makes images appear detailed as opposed to detailed. This is more apparent in dim lighting, with long exposures often causing subjects to become blurred.
