Oh, the New ‘Absolute Batman’ Villains Are…Kinda Normal?

whether you read it or not full batman, You probably know that the DC book is charmingly over the top. A grown-up Batman goes up against reimagined versions of his rogues gallery, ranging from monstrous Big Bane and Killer Croc to Poison Ivy as a living hybrid of the animal kingdom and the Scarecrow… whatever this scary thing is. And what about the next villain our hero will fight? Well, these are actually two villains, and they’re both quite individual.

DC Comics Urges Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta to Reveal ‘For June 2026’ of course batman #21 will introduce Two-Face and the Penguin to that universe. In this continuity, Harvey Dent, Waylon Jones, Oswald Cobblepot, Selina Kyle, and Eddie Nygma were Bruce’s childhood friends growing up. As adults, they all know about his night life, leading to Ben being cruel to Eddie, Oz and Harvey in such a way that the latter two become angry at their friend.

Apparently that grudge has now turned into full-on villainy, because the synopsis mentions that “Friends become enemies, [and] Enemies become friends.” Instead of adopting grotesque monster forms, Absolute Two-Face has grown out his hair to hide half of his face, which is blue as a nod to his most famous (and less terrifying) version. Batman: The Animated Series. And instead of a two-faced coin, he has a poker chip to make decisions. As for Penguin, he’s using machine guns as crutches and… yes, I could stop there; This is great. love it.

We’ll see when Bruce can repair his friendship with Harvey and Oz of course batman #21 will go on sale June 10th.
