if you read In any recent AI edition of WIRED, you know that a lot of people are spending a lot of time talking about how the technology is revolutionizing everything from coding to writing to accounting. You’ve probably heard by now from us or someone else that we may be in an AI-born economic bubble, where billions of dollars of investment into the industry are creating an unstable economic landscape that could be devastating.
Of course, you’ve also read that I get really sick of being asked about AI. However, I’m still not afraid to ask other people about it—especially if they’re much smarter than me about it. Enter Bloomberg’s brilliant co-host Joe Wiesenthal lots of weird Podcast, and a former co-worker of mine. Trust me: The guy who spent a year listening to Joe loses his mind in the office – loudly! – Whenever there are hiccups in the economy, few people think more about the financial conditions of our country and our planet than Joe. And right now, Joe’s concerns aren’t about what will happen if the AI bubble bursts. Their concerns are more focused on what is going right and wrong with the American economy.

Joe Weisenthal: Thrilled to be here. nice to see you again.
it’s been too long. we were just talking about how [you] And I worked together—what was that, like nine years ago?
I think you were there 2014, 2015, so maybe 10 years ago or something?
Yes, I worked at Bloomberg. I stayed for about a year.
not bad.
not bad. My mid-twenties were probably not the most conducive environment for my professional success. Let’s just say this. But Joe, you were there, you were loud, you were proud, you were always very bullish on the economy.
I like to talk about the economy.
You would just scream, scream, scream and scream, and I was like, Who is this boy sitting in front of me? And why is he so fast? But I really appreciated your enthusiasm.
