NVIDIA announces DLSS 4.5 at CES 2026

Like last year, NVIDIA used some of its time on the CES stage to introduce an improved version of its real-time image-upscaling technology. The new DLSS 4.5 promises sharper visuals with the second-generation Super Resolution Transformer, which the company says will deliver better temporal stability, less ghosting, and better anti-aliasing. DLSS 4.5 also includes Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, which maximizes frames per second to monitor the refresh rate, delivering 4K 240Hz path traced performance.

The second-generation Transformer Super Resolution is now available for all RTX GPUs, while the Dynamic 6x frame generation will arrive for the RTX 50 series sometime in spring 2026. It will also be available for over 400 games through NVIDIA apps.

Another new feature is RTX Remix Logic, which allows for real-time environmental reactions to in-game events. For example, when a door is opened on the screen, NVIDIA technology can render changes in volumetric conditions, display various weather simulations with particles or make changes to materials. Over 30 different generic events can be detected, and the RTX Remix logic can optimize for volumetrics, particles, material properties, and lighting properties.

NVIDIA notes that it now has native clients for both Linux and Fire TV. That’s a summary of the major gaming updates from the company’s CES presentation, but NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang had a lot more to talk about earlier today.
