Norway’s $2 trillion wealth fund said on Sunday it would vote for an upcoming shareholder proposal Microsoft The annual general meeting requires a report on the risks of operating in countries with significant human rights concerns.
Microsoft management had recommended shareholders vote against the proposal.
The fund also said it would vote against CEO Satya Nadella’s reappointment as chairman of the board, as well as his pay package.
According to fund data, the fund had a 1.35% stake in the company worth $50 billion as of June 30, making it the fund’s second-largest equity holding after Nvidia.
According to LSEG data, it is the eighth largest shareholder of Microsoft.
Investors of the American tech company will decide to approve the proposed proposals at the AGM on December 5.
