The Hollywood Reporter got the Holly scoop and softened the blow with a little more context. For one thing, Rugna will still be involved in the project.
The trade writes, “Hawley is set to direct and produce the feature, which is being developed with Damien Rugna.” “The project will be a reimagining of the 2017 film, which focuses on a police officer and a series of paranormal researchers and investigators who attempt to get to the bottom of supernatural phenomena centered in a neighborhood of Buenos Aires.”
This description is accurate as far as the plot goes, but it doesn’t capture how you feel when you watch. Terrified. Sure, the title is apt, but the film also creates a great sense of dread with its terrifying opening scene. You’ll then be looking over your shoulder and checking under the bed for several weeks. In the film, people die in horrific ways and sometimes come back, and the fabric of reality begins to distort as the mystery deepens.
Also, while Terrified While it shares some DNA with haunted house movies, the fact that its story involves a particularly unfortunate neighborhood makes it even more unique. We also love any kind of paranormal-investigator subplot, and Terrified Puts a particularly disturbing spin on the trope.
it could be worse. It might be a less brilliant name than Holly that has been entrusted with the keys to the sinister concept of Rugna. Or it could be a less talented name trying to recapture the horror of that uniquely disturbing possession. when evil hides-Probably, this is a nightmare that we should expect to happen eventually.
Ragna’s Terrified Still available on Shudder when evil hidesIf you want to, plan for a few sleepless nights ahead.
