Ice cream in December? Oh yes! Ninja’s Creamy Scoop and Swirl ice cream maker is 20 percent off for Black Friday, bringing it to a new all-time low of $279.99 at Amazon, Best Buy, and SharkNinja’s online storefront. Hard and soft ice cream can be made from it, and, as my colleague Jane Tuohy discovered this summer, you can make some very fun recipes with it.
Ninja Creamy makes ice cream on one side, which you serve as soft-serve on the other. Just be careful: It takes about 24 hours for the ice cream to freeze. But according to our reviewer, you can also turn store-bought ice cream into soft serve “in seconds.” Tuohy also found online communities with fun recipes, so she tried a few other things.
In his words, “I’ve also enjoyed creating unusual frozen dishes in Ninja. Inspired by a very active Reddit forum, we made frozen tomato soup (really delicious), fresh watermelon mixed with condensed milk (ah-ma-zing), and tried my son’s morning protein smoothie in frozen form – the perfect way to prepare him for a day of lifesaving at the local pool.”
