What’s Thanksgiving weekend without football?! Am I right

Football in late November always brings bitter cold and the chance of snow. Nature is ruining everything except the kitchen sink by Sunday.

There are three Sunday games that look interesting depending on the season.

San Francisco 49ers at Cleveland Browns

(1 p.m. ET, at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, Ohio)

This is definitely a forecast you’d expect in the Great Lakes in late November. Rain, perhaps mixed or alternating with snow, very windy and cold.

If you have the second-ranked Cleveland Browns defense in both yards allowed and sacks on your fantasy team, you’ll be hard pressed to make it to this game. Even with the 49ers’ third-ranked passing attack, the recent turnover of starter Brock Purdy as well as the Browns’ defensive performance at home makes the Browns’ D a must-start.

Oh, and there’s also the whole “California team is playing in cold weather” factor.

Atlanta Falcons at New York Jets

(1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey)

No, it’s not actually a battle of the titans, but it may rain, maybe even thunder, during the game.

So, for fantasy purposes, you may want to stick with only running backs for both the Falcons and Jets. A wet ball with rain can play havoc with each team’s struggling passing game.

Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers

(4:25 p.m. ET, at Acrizar Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)

The weather for this game could be similar to the Cleveland game: cold, windy and some rain possible.

A big question for sports and fantasy football owners is the condition of the extremely poor grass field at the Acropolis stadium. Although we are not predicting a drenching, some rain before the game on Sunday could make the field a problem once again on Sunday afternoon.

And this makes some mixed signals more complicated. The Bills third-ranked offense will face the Steelers’ sixth-worst defense, but the fifth-best defense for sacks and the fourth-best defense for turnover margin.

In this case, Bills quarterback Josh Allen and running back James Cook III may be the only real safe options for fantasy owners.
