There are two other Premier League games being played tonight. Bournemouth will host Everton while Manchester City travels to Fulham. These two have just kicked off, and Will Unwin is your man for up-to-the-minute news… plus an extra La Liga treat. We spoil you.
Newcastle have made two changes to their starting XI after their 4-1 win at Everton. Sandro Tonali and Jacob Murphy came in place of Anthony Elanga and captain Bruno Guimaraes, who both dropped to the bench.
Spurs have made four changes to their starting line-up following the Fulham failure. The return of Brennan Johnson, Pep Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and captain Cristian Romero; Archie Gray, Richardson, Micky van de Ven and Joao Palinha have been placed on the bench.

Preface
after He Defeat against Fulham leaves Tottenham Hotspur and their Insta-prone boss Thomas Frank in desperate need of an encouraging result. We wish them all the best tonight as they face a strong Newcastle United side after beating Everton, who they have recently lost 2-1, 4-0 and 6-1 to. Consider the fact that Newcastle have won five of their last six matches in the league against Spurs, and they have not lost a midweek league match at home since 2021, a run that spans ten games, and Spurs are fully prepared against this.
Lyrically, and in search of balance, this would be the point where we present some statistics to give Spurs hope. But they are in short supply. While Newcastle enjoy midweek league fixtures, Spurs most notably do not: they have won just one of their last 13, losing the last seven on the bounce. And then there is Eddie Howe’s personal record against Frank: he has won six out of eight. But hey, individual hooliganism must be broken up – Howe himself did exactly that against Pep Guardiola the other week – so don’t rule out any possibilities. And despite all the negative mood music accompanying Spurs, when it all comes down to it they are still ahead of the Toons in the Premier League standings. Then again, everything’s to play for. Kick-off at St James’ Park is 8.15pm GMT. It’s on!
