You might not want to grab a big soda when you go out sightseeing Avatar: Fire and Ashes Next month. AMC Theaters posted a runtime for James Cameron’s latest, and it is, apparently, three hours and 15 minutes. This makes it the longest Avatar The film is still beating 2022 Avatar: The Path of Water In just three minutes.
io9 contacted Disney for confirmation or clarification on that runtime, but did not receive a response by the time of publication. We will update the post if we get any response. However, AMC will not randomly assign runtimes. This involves selling tickets and setting schedules, and very regularly, ticket sites are the ones from which we learn the lengths of films. That’s why we believe it. especially since fire and ashes will be the last Avatar The film has been in the works for a while (the fourth film is currently scheduled for 2029), so we expect it to be epic.
And while news of a longer movie can be seen as either a good thing (more movies, more excitement!) or a bad thing (why is this thing so long?), when it comes to James Cameron, we lean toward the former. again, water way It was only three minutes short and was very excellent. And while today we generally think titanic As unique a work as it was, many at the time were shocked by its runtime, which, incidentally, was three hours and 15 minutes. If we remember, it worked very well. *checks note* Yes, titanic It was fine till that length. About $2 billion at the box office 20 years ago, that would be closer to $4 billion today. Eleven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. not too shabby.
Cameron said he sees fire and ashes Almost as a pun on their saga, the first three films tell one story and the last two tell another. So, we think this film is going to be even more impressive than the first two mega-successful films. There’s a lot of story to tell. Also, this time there was no need to wait for 13 years. We know the audience comes AvatarNo matter how tall it is.
