The Dutch government suspended its powers over chipmaker Nexperia, handing control back to its Chinese owner and easing a standoff with Beijing that had begun to hamper automotive production around the world.
The Minister of Economic Affairs lifted the order, which had given the Netherlands the power to block or modify decisions at Nijmegen-based Nexperia, as a “show of goodwill”. Vincent Karremans Said on Wednesday, discussions are continuing with Chinese officials.
