Netflix’s ‘Cosmic Princess Kaguya!’ trailer is nothing short of stunning

Shingo Yamashita’s Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Coming to Netflix in January, and judging by the trailer above, we’re in for an absolute treat.

In the trailer, former Moon resident Kaguya (voiced by Yuko Natsuyoshi) befriends earthling, songwriter and student Iroha (Anna Nagase). Not wanting to return to her lunar home, Kaguya instead wants to become a top idol and dreamer, especially in the virtual realm of Tsukuyomi. There he meets “Tsukuyomi’s Diva” Yachiyo (Saori Hayami), who sings Cosmic Princess Kaguya!The main theme is “X-Otogibanashi” (“X-Fairy Tale”), composed for the film by Vocaloid creator Ryo (Supercell).

How will Kaguya reach her dream? By singing one of Iroha’s compositions, “Watashiha Watashinokotoga Suki” (“I like who I am”), written by Honeyworks, an excerpt of which you can hear in the trailer. And Vocaloid fans, you can also expect songs by kz (livetune), aqua3ra, yuigot, and 40mP in the movie.
