Netflix has crashed for thousands of viewers after the first four episodes of Stranger Things season 5 went live for streaming. DownDetector began receiving an unusual number of outage reports about 10 minutes before 8 pm Eastern Time, when the episodes were scheduled to arrive on the service. The number reached around 14,000 before falling over the next few minutes.
according to Entertainment WeeklyAffected viewers were getting the NSEZ-403 error, meaning their accounts could not connect to Netflix. However, on its own interruption detector page, Netflix says that “There are currently no interruptions occurring [its] Streaming service.” People who are getting “something went wrong” and “sorry, we’re having trouble with your request” messages will just have to keep trying. Specifically for the NSEZ-403 error, Netflix recommends switching to a different device. It’s worth noting that the show’s creator previously said that Netflix increased its bandwidth by 30 percent to avoid a crash for the season premiere, so the outage problems are hopefully temporary.
