NBC Sports Network returns to Comcast cable as Peacock companion

Nearly four years after going off the air, NBC Sports Network is back. The channel returned to Comcast’s Xfinity cable system on Tuesday as an affiliate of streaming service Peacock.

NBCUniversal, which had shut down NBCSN on December 31, 2021 to partially move programming to Peacock, revived it for those who want to stay in a cable, satellite or steaming bundle for the game but do not subscribe to Peacock. It will feature most of the streamer’s content, but not everything. Week 17 will have an NFL game and some Olympics content just for Peacock.

NBCU risks losing customers who have a streaming service for games. He hopes to reduce this by keeping some content exclusive.

NBCSN, which returned to YouTube TV for the first time this month, is broadcasting the NBA, college basketball and the English Premier League and will add MLB, NASCAR, WNBA and more in 2026. NBC is already producing programs, so airing them on NBCSN is not a major expense. Additionally, this also increases the scope of their audience. The network also airs talk shows, including “The Dan Patrick Show” and “The Dan Le Batard Show”.

The channel, number 1211, is available on Xfinity’s Popular TV tier and Sports and News TV bundle.
