Helen (Forgive me for the last time) “Naomi” Gates, 88, of Zanesville, died November 29, 2025 at her home.
She was born on May 18, 1937, to the late Evelyn and Chester Roberts. Naomi loved going to bingo with her daughter, grandchildren and lifelong friends. He enjoyed playing euchre in Rokeby Lock and The Eagles. He loved watching game shows and Pitbulls and Parolees.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford and Doug Roberts, his sister, Peg (Dick) Spiker, his daughter, Sandy Radcliff, his “baby boy” Jamie Gates Jr., his grandson, Ricky Radcliff Sr., his son-in-law, Jeff Jewell Sr., and countless other friends and family.
He is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Tom) Padgett, Brenda Jewell (Terry) and Christy Gates. His grandchildren, Paul (Patricia) Jewell, (Charlene), (Danny), Amy (Jeff and Cindy) Sindeldecker, Heidi (Shawn) Heskett, Tiffany Jewell (Rodney), Kelsey (Kyle) Madinger, Robbie (Patty) Dittenbach, Kisha Radcliffe, Alexandria (Toni) Mahon, Ricky Radcliffe Jr., Devon (Angela) Hunter, and Andra (Austin) Foyt; thirty-two great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and two on the way; her sister-in-law, Chris Gates and lifelong friend Peggy (Ronnie) Evans. his dog, Jingles, who refused to leave his side; Also his Salvation Army family, especially George Bates.
The cremation will be carried out with care, keeping in mind Naomi’s wishes. A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced later. Persia Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Gates family.
