‘Mutant Mayhem 2’ Director Confirms New Film Won’t Impact the Sequel

This week, Paramount announced the release date of a brand new, live-action teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. One that promises to change the entire scope of the franchise. That news didn’t mention that, a year before it happened, there would be a sequel. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Is also coming in theatres, and thankfully the director of that film does not see one affecting the other.

io9 recently spoke with Jeff Rowe, director of mutant mayhem As well as its upcoming 2027 sequel. They did not know much about this new turtles The film was in the news recently, but he didn’t seem worried. “No one has called me yet to tell me anything,” Rowe said. “It feels like we’re moving into a world where maybe multiple things can live together. And, you know, there was a time when live-action spider man films being made at the same time spider verseI love these characters and welcome anyone who wants to introduce them to the franchise,”

Rowe has recently completed production on a short film set in the same universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chrome Alone 2 – Lost in New JerseyWho decided to divide his time between shorts and features. “Sometimes it’ll be like, ‘This week is too short.’ And other times it’ll be like, ‘Well, in short, you’re on your own. It’s $20 for a pizza here, and I have to deal with the feature,'” Rowe said.

However, with the release of the feature film still being almost two years away, it looks like things are in pretty good shape. “There are a lot of parts that are now going into animation,” Rowe said. “And I think the film will be fully animated by the middle of next year. Then we’ll be lighting and compositing and working every day to bring as much quality to the screen as possible.”

As for when we might learn more about the film, like what it’s called and what it’s about, Rowe didn’t know. “We’ll see what the marketing department thinks best,” he said. “But I think there’s some intrinsic excitement about it. And I’m excited for the world to see it.”
