The Razer Fold will have a triple 50MP camera system. Some foldable devices, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, have flagship-level main sensors, but others are a big step up due to space constraints. Motorola will be using a 50MP Sony Lithium sensor for the primary, 50MP ultrawide (with macro) and 50MP 3x telephoto. The camera module adds quite a bit of bulk to the back panel – it nearly doubles the phone’s thickness in that area, but Moto hasn’t released official measurements to confirm this.
Certainly, AI-infected software
Motorola is giving some hints about how this phone’s software will work, but not surprisingly, there’s a lot we don’t know. For example, it’s launching in the summer, so does that mean it will run Android 17? Google changed the release schedule to 2025 to take into account the abundance of new Android devices launching each summer.
We’re also told that the Razr Fold’s software will take advantage of the form factor with “flexible layout, “adaptive interface” and “multitasking enhancements.” The company declined to elaborate on how any of this will work. Motorola will continue to offer AI features like Catch Me Up and Pay Attention, but they’ll be joined by a new AI experience called Cura, which the company says will be developed by Motorola and Lenovo. Will be available on both devices.
The idea is that Cura remembers your context from other devices, letting you take actions across apps, create documents, and get supposedly useful reminders. Qira will soon launch on Lenovo laptops, followed shortly by Motorola phones in the Edge and Razer families. The new AI platform, which relies on technology from companies like Microsoft and Perplexity, will be available on the Razer Fold at launch.
We also don’t know how much Motorola will charge for this phone. Most book-style foldables retail for around $2,000, and the components that go into these phones aren’t getting cheaper. In fact, many of them could be much more expensive in 2026. When pressed, Motorola refused to even give a ballpark estimate of MSRP. As the summer launch window approaches, we should get more information about Razer Fold specs and price.
