partnership between Sesame Street Creators Sesame Workshop and YouTube were first announced last year and feature old episodes as well as new content. Some theme-based compilations that have also been added to YouTube and YouTube Kids focus on specific educational topics such as ABC and STEM, while others have broader themes such as “Adventure & Imagination” and “Friendship & Play”.
Media history enthusiasts also have good reason to check out the new Sesame Street Archive. The earliest episode, which aired in 1969, covers when Kermit the Frog was still hanging out with the likes of Big Bird and Bert.
The YouTube partnership should not be confused with the Sesame Workshop deal, also recently signed with Netflix, which saw new episodes of Sesame Street — now in its 56th season — moves from its former home at HBO to the streamer and PBS. The network chose not to renew the decade-long partnership.
