Miriam Margolyes to Alexander Skarsgård: “You’re Not Gay, Are You? Are You?”

The latter statement was a reference to an earlier story where Skarsgård had said that he had looked into renting one of the actress’s houses while she was out of the country, but he joked that he did not do so because of the sexual relationship between the pair.

Margolis called Skarsgård’s role “fascinating”, adding, “I’ve been enthusiastically gay for a very long time, and I’m always surprised when I get to know people like that later on. But you have to act into it. And how did you research it if you didn’t know much about it? Because we all do research.”

“I mean, these are all the questions I was going to ask,” Norton joked. Sadly, Skarsgård did not respond to follow-up. (It should be noted that at the time he was wearing a hilarious Joe Sweeney “Hot Buffet ‘Available All Day’ Eat As Much As You Want” T-shirt.)

Exchange follows speculation around true Blood Actor’s sexuality. I spoke to him in October Diversity During the Zurich Film Festival he made comments that led some to assume he was bisexual.

“I found that in this case, it’s not really relevant what my background is,” Skarsgård said. “I mean, I have a kid, but what have I done in the past, who have I been with, men, women… For me, what was important was that it was an opportunity to tell a story about a subculture that I had not seen portrayed like this – with so much authenticity.”
