In response to Jennings’ comments on McCain’s podcast, Dylan Douglas provided a statement to EW.

“I was surprised and a little flattered that Scott Jennings still cared about her so much, three weeks after our conversation,” he wrote. “I heard a lot of nasty things about the guy before I went on the show, but in person he was very pleasant. The fact that almost a month later, he’s attacking me based on who my parents are, rather than our political differences, is disappointing. I understand he just released a book, maybe this is part of his publicity effort? Still I wish him all the best for him and his book.”
