Meta is offering a way for people to interact together in their virtual space. Users will now be able to invite friends to visit places created with Hyperscape on Meta Horizon. Up to eight people can join an instance, provided they are 18 years of age or older and have access to that location. Virtual Space can be connected to the Meta Quest 3 or 3S as well as through the Meta Horizon mobile app, which is on both Android and iOS. When people can’t be together in person, they can scan their homes to create virtual hangouts, or they can indulge in their interior makeovers and hang out in some celebrity spaces, like Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen or Chance the Rapper’s living room.
This is an application of Hyperscape Capture, which Meta showed off during its Connect conference earlier this year. That technology allows people to use MetaQuest to scan real locations and create digital replicas. The invite option is slowly being added to accounts, and Meta also said it hopes to increase the party limit for this Metaverse feature in the future.
