It was the Mean Green’s biggest comeback win after an under-4 media timeout since March 15, 2022, when UNT defeated Texas St. 67–63 (OT) in the first round of the 2022 NIT when the Bobcats trailed by eight (52–44) with 2:50 left in regulation. North Texas Guard J’Shawn Stevenson The Mean Green scored a career-high 26 points Tuesday in a 79-71 overtime win over Eastern Washington, 11 of which came in a five-minute overtime period. Stevenson scored 11 of UNT’s 14 overtime points. Stevenson’s 11 points in an overtime period were the most by a UNT player since November 16, 2010, when Josh White also scored 11 points in overtime to lead UNT to a 93–82 (OT) win over Texas Tech in the Super Bowl.
