Garrett, at the time, was struggling to practice his game, and according to a report by Essentially Sports, Natalie helped him practice. Natalie held block pads for Garrett, simulating game situations during the COVID-19 era. Natalie was with Garrett during his practice and helped him, strengthening their bond. She became a linesman for Garrett when he practiced, and in a media statement published by the publication, the player noted:
“I know exactly how much weight I hold between my legs and toes. I had my wife line up, and she would run after me, and I would take sets, and I would put my hands on her – not hard, of course – but enough so that I could keep repeating the same thing over and over again.”

It was in 2017 that Garrett and Natalie were blessed with their first son, Kingston. Natalie maintained stability in the family by ensuring that her children had smooth transitions to child care and education, and made necessary adjustments to Kingston’s speech apraxia therapy. The couple together founded the GB3 Foundation in 2021 to support children with various learning differences and speech difficulties. Boles funded the Boerem & Boles Apraxia Training Center in Parker, Colorado.

It is dedicated to training speech-language pathologists, teachers who deal with this issue. Addressing the issue of his son, Kingston’s learning disability, Garrett once shared his experience of trying not to get emotional in a media statement. The player shared a challenging experience and revealed that his son performed amazingly, learned the words and it was great to see his son’s facial expressions. Garrett shared:
“My son was diagnosed with speech apraxia. It’s a learning disability where it affects him and how he speaks and how he communicates. From now until he’s seven years old, he’ll be going to intensive speech therapy to help him. A lot of it is muscle memory. How we learn – we learn by listening and are able to communicate. For kids who have speech apraxia, it’s all muscle memory. It’s repeating the same words over and over again and finding new ways to approach it.”

Boles shared that he and Natalie will do whatever it takes to create awareness about it. The player also shared that he loves his son very much and he is probably one of the best things that has happened to him, apart from his wife and daughters. The couple is grateful for the challenges that making them a big family brings. According to a report by Baronton.com, Natalie and Garrett co-founded the ‘I’m King’ campaign, which reportedly raised US$150,000. This was in the first year of the speech therapy scholarship. Garrett and Natalie Boles are determined to give their son, Kingston, the best possible support, and they’re going to do whatever it takes to raise awareness. The couple are parents to three adorable children – Kingston, Ariyah and Jaya Rae.
