Matthew Stafford needs 154 passing yards to jump Matt Ryan for eighth all time

Coming off his best season to date, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is climbing the list of all-time greats when it comes to accumulating passing yardage.

Stafford entered the Week 13 game against the Panthers just 153 yards shy of surpassing Matt Ryan for eighth place on the all-time list.

Ryan had 62,792. Stafford has 62,639.

After Ryan, Stafford will have 648 yards passing to catch Philip Rivers for No. 7. And then No. 6 would catch Ben Roethlisberger for 648 yards.

Moving to No. 5 depends on how long Aaron Rodgers plays. He currently has 64,921.

It’s a long way up to No. 4, where Brett Favre has 71,838. Stafford is currently 9,199 behind. It will take two or three years to reach there. Given the way Stafford is currently playing, this isn’t a crazy proposal.
