A fire broke out in at least two high-rise warehouses in downtown St. Louis on Friday morning.
Scheduled Tribe. LOUIS – At least two large warehouse fires broke out near Grottoite at 2nd and River in downtown St. Louis early Friday morning, according to video taken by 5 On Your Side photographers and multiple live camera views from MDOT.
The fire can be seen from I-44 in downtown St. Louis. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is controlling traffic at several locations, including:
- Fourth Street and Gratiot Street
- 4th Street and Lombard Street
- Broadway and Chouteau Avenue
5 On Your Side reporter Reagan Di Trolio was at the scene just off I-44 at 5 a.m., where a large plume of smoke was billowing across the roadway. A large portion of the warehouse has collapsed, and initial reports indicate that one person was found inside the warehouse and evacuated.
