This is made possible by a separate, wall-mountable module that transmits wire power in the form of a light beam to a small panel on the indoor part of the lock. Lockin spends most of his press release talking about the V7 Max, which he says has a wireless charging range of four meters. Wireless charging locks like this aren’t exactly new, but they aren’t exactly something you can just go out and buy. (Although, the technique is apparently quite good; my former colleague at The Verge, Jennifer Tuohy, has Said she never wants to go back after testing Alfred’s lock.) It’s all set to replace the Veno Pro Wireless and the V7 Max, with Lockin saying both will be available for preorder shortly after CES 2026 and shipping early this year.

Of the two, the V7 Max is the sleeker one, based on the company’s existing similar V5 Max (Which is not available in the US). Like the V5 Max, it features palm vein-scanning and facial recognition, but also offers finger vein scanning instead of fingerprint. It includes a 5-inch touchscreen and cameras on both the inside and outside. The V7 Max will be Mate-compatible, making it usable with any major smart home platform that supports the universal standard. Finally, the V7 Max is neither a normal door handle nor a deadbolt replacement; This is a mortise lock, which is more common in commercial buildings and will require significant alteration to install on the front of your home; Unless you are very handy, you may want to have a professional install it.
The Veno Pro Wireless is a redesigned version of the existing Veno Pro, which also features palm vein and fingerprint scanning, works as a video doorbell and is Miter compatible. Most people will find the Veno Pro Wireless to be an easy sell because it is a simple deadbolt replacement and will not require any expensive modifications to install. Lockin hasn’t revealed specific pricing for either lock yet, but in an email to Gizmodo, Lockin says the Veno Pro Wireless will be priced the same as the $380 Veno Pro.
