Live updates: National Guard shooting, Trump says US to pause migration from ‘Third World Countries’

The 24-year-old Martinsburg, West Virginia native was shot near his home in Washington, D.C., this week, neighbors of Andrew Wolfe said.

Michael Langone told CNN that he has lived next door to Wolfe for about two years, and described him as a “great guy” who would “give anyone his shirt off.”

“We always took care of each other. The best neighbors you could ask for really,” he said, adding, “It really shocked us, really close to home.”

Wolfe was shot along with 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom yesterday while on National Guard duty in the nation’s capital. According to federal officials, his condition remains critical.

Langone said the shooting was unimaginable for the close-knit community. He said, “There are no problems between us, and we are lucky to have him as a neighbor, and I hope his family is OK.”

Another neighbor, Tina Gaisford, called Wolfe a “positive, good kid” and emphasized that the shooting has instilled fear in the community.

“It’s scary to think that one of our guys is going to get hurt. You know, especially a guy who works hard and goes to work every day and he gets hurt like this,” he told CNN.
