LG’s fastest and brightest OLED gaming monitor is $999.99

LG is launching its dual mode GX7 OLED monitor in the US, with refresh rates up to 720Hz. Based on LG Display’s fourth-generation WOLED panel, the 26.5-inch 27GX790B can run in 1440p resolution at 540Hz, or at a very impressive 720p resolution at an impressive 720Hz.

The Dual Mode option lets you switch between 540Hz and 720Hz modes with a hot key, letting you change to higher refresh rates for eSports games that can run at higher frame rates and switch back to 1440p resolution for games where you don’t need anything close to 720Hz.

Priced at $999.99, LG says the 27GX790B is the company’s brightest OLED gaming monitor yet, thanks to the latest-generation Tandem OLED that enables this panel to reach 335 nits of typical brightness. The 27GX790B also features the usual 0.02ms OLED response time, DisplayPort 2.1 support, G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro compatibility, and DisplayHDR True Black 500 support.

Pre-orders for the 27GX790B begin today in the US, and LG is also bundling a 27-inch 1080p IPS display ($299.99 value) with any pre-order placed through February 1st. Pre-order shipping of LG’s GX7 will begin in early February.
