Presenter Laura Woods collapsed while leading coverage of England’s friendly match against Ghana in Southampton on Tuesday.
Woods was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante, at which point ITV made an advertising break.
When coverage returned, colleague Katie Shanahan took over as presenter and confirmed that Woods had “been ill”.
“As you’ve probably noticed, we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she just got sick, but she’s in great hands so I’m stepping in at late notice,” Shanahan said.
Woods is a regular presenter of men’s and women’s football on ITV and TNT Sports.
He has also worked as a radio presenter on talkSPORT.
