A court in Tennessee sided kelly picker and stopped the summons issued by the country star’s in-laws, us weekly Can report specifically.
On Tuesday, November 25, Judge Presiding over the bitter court battle between Pickler and reed jacobs And sharon jacobsher late husband’s parents, kyle jacobsissued its decision.
Kyle, a successful country songwriter, died by suicide in February 2023 at the age of 49. Pickler, 39, married Kyle in 2011.
In a recent court order, the judge said the summons issued by Reid and Sharon was “prima facie unusual”. In particular, the judge said that the paperwork was completed improperly.
Additionally, he said the subpoena contained a list of assets to be brought to Pickler.
The judge said, “They are not papers for inspection or copying which can be easily given to a lawyer or taken to the place listed in the summons.” “Rather, they are numerous and, in some cases, large/bulky items of tangible personal property.” Pickler explained that it may also be illegal for him to transport some of the firearms requested by Reed and Sharon, the order states.
The order states, “The Court is unclear about (Reed and Sharon’s) expectations regarding the subpoena. It appears that (Reed and Sharon) may have expected that by issuing the subpoena (Pickler) would readily turn over the requested items to them. Or, alternatively, they may have expected to simply be given the opportunity to inspect or make an inventory of the items,” the order read.

The judge said Reed and Sharon have not filed any complaint or petition against Pickler, which means he cannot issue a subpoena. “The Court concludes that the subpoena in this estate administration case is void and unenforceable,” the order said. The judge said Reed and Sharon may be able to serve subpoenas in a separate case filed against them by Pickler.
As We As previously reported, Reed and Sharon took over Kyle’s estate after Pickler refused to serve as administrator.
In 2024, Pickler filed a petition claiming she needed the court to intervene in her dispute with Reed and Sharon over Kyle’s estate.
“A dispute has arisen between the parties regarding certain personal property allegedly in the possession of Kyle prior to his death.” American Idol Read the alum’s petition.

The items included Kyle’s large gun collection, gun safe, Rolex watch, Garmin watch, cuff links, all rings except his wedding ring, a 1957 J45 Gibson guitar, a McPherson KOA guitar, baseball card albums, school awards, iPhone and other laptops, a Steinway Grand Model M piano, and several family photo albums.
In court documents, Pickler’s attorney said, “The list of property includes items that either are not owned by (Pickler) or whose right, title and possession is disputed.”

The singer’s lawyers asked the court to name Pickler the “sole beneficiary” of Kyle’s estate and order all assets to go to her.
Pickler also said that her former in-laws “may have already distributed items or property to themselves (or others) or spent estate funds.” She asked for a full accounting report on the distribution of Kyle’s assets.
In a separate filing, attorneys for Reed and Sharon argued, “It is difficult to know how to respond once again to (Pickler’s court filing) latest vitriol.
“(Reed and Sharon) are the proud parents of a son who became a highly successful… songwriter… who tragically took his own life at a young age,” Reed and Sharon’s filing reads.
The legal battle continues.
