Someone said to me, “Jerry Seinfeld can’t do comedy anymore because people are too sensitive.”
And I am immediately defending those who would cancel it by justifying it.
I haven’t listened to his comedy in years. I don’t follow him. I don’t know if he’s racist or sexist, or if his comedy is even politically incorrect. And if it’s not PC, I don’t know if it’s in good faith.
I’m so sick of the right wing complaining that they can no longer say anything, so I immediately took a stance on a topic I know almost nothing about.
Oh, Jerry Seinfeld still does comedy. He has around 40-50 programs from now till May.
But yeah, I think he says he won’t play on college campuses anymore because students call him racist or sexist.
Their complaints may be legitimate and their comedy may be good. Honestly, I don’t know, and I don’t want to jump to the same conclusions I did. I don’t want to accept his complaints at face value either. I just want to…don’t know, and be okay with that.
