The next day, she sent Epstein a link to an article in Commentary about Trump’s election and the American economy. “Good article for Trump to see,” he wrote.
On March 4, Melanie messaged Epstein. “BG will meet Trump on March 20/21,” in an apparent reference to Gates. (Gates actually met with Trump at the White House on March 20, 2017. White House press secretary Sean Spicer said the meeting was about dealing with the disease outbreak around the world.)
“What a waste of time,” Epstein replied. “He should meet the barracks”, in an apparent reference to the current US ambassador to Türkiye.
On March 6, Epstein and Melanie continued to send messages about Trump and Gates.
“Israel – Tell Bill Paris Week of 21,” Epstein wrote, in apparent reference to an alleged peace meeting regarding the situation in the Middle East.
Melanie replied, “Peace efforts? W. Jared and Tony Blair and all those people? Not sure there’s interest in the peace process, mostly in technologies.” “He says he talks to Jared a lot.”
“No peace is boring and not happening. Grow up,” Epstein replied.
(Although no peace meeting took place in Paris in March 2017, on March 10, a few days after these messages were sent, Trump made his first phone call with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and invited him to visit the White House.)
In their messages on March 6, Melanie reminded Epstein that a meeting between Gates and Trump was taking place later that month.
Epstein then appeared to claim that a meeting was being held at his home to discuss a myriad of Israel-related issues, telling Melanie in a message, “Money tracking, crime. It’s at my house so I would know.” It is not clear whether the meeting took place or not, or if it did, who attended.
“Oh God, invite me,” writes Melanie. “Can try to invite BG based on guest list etc – Larry told him he can’t contact you so he has to manage it carefully.” (This is an apparent reference to Gates’ longtime associate Larry Cohen. Cohen is the CEO of Gates Ventures and did not respond to a request seeking comment.)
“Not a problem for me,” Epstein writes. “I like Bill. He gets more from me than I get from him. He should grow some balls and start making love.”
