Jeff Bezos will be co-CEO of AI startup Project Prometheus

Jeff Bezos is getting a new job. He will reportedly become co-CEO of Project Prometheus, a new startup he is partially funding. The company’s exact plans are still unknown, but its focus is on AI that can improve manufacturing in sectors including computing, automobiles, and aerospace.

the new York Times Project Prometheus is reportedly already one of the better-funded early-stage startups in the world, with $6.2 billion invested, including in part from Bezos himself. Apart from funding the venture, he will help run the company along with co-founder Vic Bajaj. He is a physicist and chemist who once worked at Google

Project Prometheus reportedly already has around 100 employees, including former employees of OpenAI, DeepMind, and Meta. Now with Bezos in their midst, it will be his first formal operational role at a company since stepping down as Amazon CEO in 2021, although he has since taken a keen interest in its SpaceX rival Blue Origin, which completed the first successful landing of its New Glenn booster last week.
