“Who really likes – be honest with yourself – who really likes turkey?” he asked, prompting some soldiers in the audience to cheer.

Vance replied, “You’re all full of ****. Everyone who raised their hands.”

“I know. Think about it. And here’s why every single one of you who raised your hand is lying to me. How many times do you just roast an 18-pound turkey? Just, you know, one nice summer afternoon, we’re going to have an 18-pound turkey. Nobody does that, because turkey doesn’t really taste that good.”

But then Vance became a patriot again. He said, “On most American holidays, I swear to God, we’ll cook turkey, because that’s what Americans do.” “We cook this huge American bird, and we do all kinds of crazy things to make it taste good.”

Vance told the crowd that he planned to deep-fry a turkey on Thursday, and used that anecdote to once again bash the bird.

“The thing is,” he added. “If you have to deep fry something to make it taste good, it’s probably not that good. That’s a pretty good rule of thumb when it comes to food. Chicken is good all the time. Chicken is good when you deep fry it, but it’s good outside of it, too.”

Of course, Vance is entitled to his opinion about his food, but people on social media were troubled by his turkey taunts.
