Dunn is perfectly portrayed, fully embracing his villainous nature and putting no holds on his powers in his quest to win, making everyone a potential victim. The film effectively uses its R rating to introduce the evil Superman trope with a truly brutal and disturbing film that doesn’t shy away from the consequences of Brandon’s power and sadistic nature, resulting in memorable and gruesome deaths and heightened stakes and scares. The film works incredibly well as both a rogue Superman story and an intense slasher.
