It’s been over 30 years since its release Terminator 2: Judgment Day It seems like it’s no big deal. Writer-director James Cameron was coming off a string of hit films starting with the first terminator In 1984; Its star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was the biggest star in the world, and it ultimately created the special effects that changed Hollywood as we know it. However, none of this would have happened if Linda Hamilton had not agreed to come back.
In a brilliant, unforgettable interview, James Cameron recently sat down with Vanity Fair to review every film of his career. It’s worth a watch for Cameroon fans (we’ve embedded it below) and is full of fascinating information. What was different is in relation to terminator 2 And what steps did Cameron take before writing the script?
Cameron said, “I really wanted Linda in the movie.” “and I said [to the producers]’Have you contacted him?’ ‘No.’ I said, ‘Okay, okay, let me go to him, because before I write the script I need to know whether he’s in or out…’ So I went to Linda’s… We had dinner. She was pregnant at that time. I said, ‘Okay, we’re going to make a terminator Movies.’ She said, ‘I have one thing I want.’ And I said, ‘Okay.’ ‘I want to go crazy.’
Yes, Linda Hamilton was just coming back terminator 2 If Sarah Connor was mad. or something like that.
Cameron continued, “Her hypothesis was that the trauma she had gone through, her vision of the future, had basically driven her crazy.” “We ultimately modified her so that she was on the edge. She wasn’t actually crazy, but we didn’t know that until part way through the movie, where she goes to shoot the guy and tries to unlock the future, and she can’t do it. So her moral compass is still intact, no matter what, in that moment, she knows she can kill four billion people. So we worked collaboratively together.”
In the end, this feels like the right balance to give the character a nice big arc. He talks more about it in the video, as well as finding Edward Furlong to play Sarah Connor’s most important son, John, the struggle to get the CGI effects right, and much more. and that’s it terminator 2 Section. There are amazing little tidbits in each movie, so be sure to check it out below.
